There’s Power in Prayer: How Our Online Prayer Centre Supports the Faith Journey
At Anyone Pray, powered by Crossroads, we are a people of prayer. Our core missional goal is to be present to the Living God and his love so that through our lives and the transformational power of the Holy Spirit, the presence of Jesus is welcomed and released in each and every prayer interaction with every caller who reaches out to us 24/7, 365 days a year, regardless of media platform!
We believe in the power of prayer because:
Our Heavenly Father welcomes prayer and answers prayer:
- Call to me and I will answer you! (Jeremiah 33:3)
- I call on you, my God, for you will answer me (Psalm 17:6)
Prayer aligns with the Father’s heart, for Jesus modelled prayer consistently and is our 24/7 High Priest and Intercessor:
- Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed (Luke 5:16)
- Christ is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us (Romans 8:34)
- Such a high priest (Jesus) truly meets our need (Hebrews 7:26)
In prayer, we make known our requests to God. It is our first response, not our last resort:
- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6)
- Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16)
Through 24/7 prayer, God’s people humbly obey Christ’s command to “pray always and never give up” until his “Kingdom comes, and his will is done on earth as it is in heaven”:
- And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people (Ephesians 6:18)
- Pray continually… for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Prayer is efficacious, powerful and has no ‘best before’ expiry date! The prayers of God’s people are always before him:
- The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.
Prayer provides heaven the opportunity to engage humanity for good and for eternal outcomes:
- And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ (Colossians 4:3)
- As you help us by your prayers…many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favour granted us in answer to the prayers of many!
